I truly get it.

I know how hard it can be to make changes. But, I promise you, it’s possible.

Today, I love working out, eating nourishing foods, and basically all-things wellness! But it has not always been this way.

  • I haven’t always known how to make healthy, delicious homemade food.

  • I haven’t always known how to honor and take care of myself

  • I haven’t always known what to do in the gym

  • I haven’t always known how to truly & unconditionally love myself.

But change, growth and learning are always possible — I’m living proof.

Getting Healthy from a Place of Self-Love

I was a chronic dieter for most of my life, and struggled with disordered eating, yo-yo dieting and over-exercising for years.

And, like so many women, I was not immune to the overt and covert messages about our bodies and beauty. From movies to magazines the message and “standard” of beauty was clear: look like the photos and don’t quit working hard until you do.

Finally, in my late 20s, I was tired of working out to “fix” my body. I also became increasingly aware of my hurtful inner dialogue — the critical thoughts about my body, the comparison to others — and I was like, HOLD UP: I would NEVER talk to anyone else this way, so why in the hell was I talking to myself like that?!

I wanted so badly to feel confident and healthy, and it became clear the endless years of dieting were NOT working. So, I dug into the research. I devoured books on nutrition, behavior change, habits, self-love and spirituality. I was beginning to finally see: the real “work” I needed to do wasn’t physical — it was internal.

I started making small changes in the name of self-worth and self-love: I journaled. I visited farmers markets, and I got my butt in the kitchen. I reminded myself that I deserved to feel amazing, mind, body and spirit, and I took actions in support of that each day. This mental and emotional shift was EVERYTHING.

I started to notice positive changes in my relationship with food, my relationship with myself and my relationship with others. I also completely flipped the script on my exercise routine. No longer did I workout in a battle against my body, but instead, for the first time in my life, I was working out because I loved my body.

Getting intentional about fueling my body with whole foods and doing it from a place of love was THE catalyst for my massive health and life transformation. It led to a new mindset, a new career, new relationships, and a new way of showing up in the world — literally a new life.

It wasn’t a sexy, quick fix and it for sure was NOT linear — but damn, it’s been worth it.

I truly believe that everyone deserves to feel healthy, vibrant and amazing in their body and their life. We just need the tools, consistency, love and support to get us there. I know it’s possible, and it would be my absolute joy and honor to show you how.
